Dan has over 25 years in the investment management industry and co-founded CK Advisors, LLC in 2006. Dan spent 20 years with Columbia Management Group, the asset management division of Bank of America and its predecessors: FleetBoston Financial, Liberty Funds, and Stein, Roe & Farnham. He was a Senior Vice President and Senior Portfolio Manager, with a principal role as Lead Manager of $2 billion in mutual fund and institutional mid-cap value assets. Prior to his direct portfolio management experience, Dan was Co-Head of an investment team which managed portfolios for his firm’s high net worth division. He started his career at Stein Roe in 1985 as an Equity Analyst.
Dan graduated Cum Laude from the University of Rochester in 1981, receiving a Bachelor of Arts, with a concentration in Economics. In 1985, he was awarded a Masters of Business Administration from The Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania. Dan graduated with High Distinction, and concentrated in Finance.
Dan has been featured in Kiplinger’s, The Wall Street Journal, and on the front page of The New York Times. He has also been quoted regarding his investment views in publications such as Fortune, Money Magazine, and The Boston Globe. Dan has appeared on Bloomberg, CNBC, and in a national advertising campaign.
Jeffrey C. Kinzel, CFA
Founder and Managing Member
Jeff has over 18 years of experience in the investment management industry, and co-founded CK Advisors in 2006. He previously served as Senior Portfolio Manager and Co-Manager of $2 billion in mutual fund and institutional mid-cap value assets at Columbia Management Group and predecessors. He was also the Lead Manager of various small-cap value portfolios. Jeff has a strong background in fundamental research, having spent many years as an equity analyst.
Jeff graduated from Northwestern University and received a Master of Business Administration from The Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania, where he concentrated in Finance. Jeff also earned a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Michigan Law School, making the prestigious Law Review.
Jeff has appeared on CNBC and has been interviewed in CFO: Magazine for Senior Financial Executives. He has also been a guest lecturer on investing at Northwestern University, and was a guest speaker before the National Investor Relations Institute. Jeff holds the professional designation of Chartered Financial Analyst and is a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Chicago. He serves as an investment advisor on the Wilmette, Illinois Police Pension Board.
